A Collection For TOPMAN

The collection “Locked” is a Sherlock Holmes themed Pre-Fall collection for TOPMAN. The inspiration came not only from the Victorian era of the late 1800’s, but also was gathered from many of the different interpretations of Sherlock Holmes over the past century including recent movie and television series. The pieces in the collection can be worn on many occasions as they are rooted with Victorian elegances, but modernized for the customers of today.

The intention of this collection is to convey a feeling of casual sophistication. Inspiration was also gathered from some classic Victorian silhouettes, which were then updated and modernized to fit current fashion trends. The selection of fabrics was also taken from the classic Victorian prints, plaids and tweeds that were developed further throughout the design process and modernized to appeal to the target customer.

The target customer for this collection is a young adult male with an average age of 18-30 years old. He is fashion forward and a risk taker who has a budget to spend on clothes, but not a large enough budget to shop solely at the Designer level. He shops at TOPMAN and at other bridge priced stores and collections. The customer also frequents stores such as Zara and H&M while also mixing in designer pieces. The target customer for “LOCKED” keeps up with trends in fashion, technology and social media and is in the loop and up to date on social events occurring around him. He is an ambitious young student or career-orientated individual. He enjoys going out to events on the weekends; for work or for pleasure, and for this reason he has a need for interesting and unique suit pieces.

Some general average pricing for some of the pieces in the collection would be about $140 for suit trousers. The sweaters would range from $60-$80. The dress shirts would average $45, and the shorts would be $50. The cropped trousers would average $70.

This collection would be sold in stores and available online. The collection consists of pieces that can be worn in many different occasions.this collection allows the customer freedom to mix and match pieces within the collection. This collection has a blend of ready to wear and evening wear suits, with the ability to layer them to achieve different levels of dressing up of down.
